The Latin American Chamber of Commerce is standing in solidarity with our Peruvian brothers and sisters affected by the earthquake near Lima, Peru. It is working closely with members of Utah’s Peruvian Community to assist in relief efforts.
Many generous members of the community have responded already to calls for assistance. From Logan to Provo, donations have been coming into the designated collection points. A heartfelt vote of thanks are in order for these generous Utahans. Â
Â
In collaboration with Poder Para la Familia Hispana, Proyecto Latino, Faith and Community Based Organizations and other members of the Latino Community, the LACC is assisting in the collection effort.
Â
More efforts by Utah’s Peruvian and Latino communities to gather assistance are underway and details will be released as these are finalized.
Â
An account has been set up at Wells Fargo Bank under Peru Relief Effort. Donations of warm clothes, jackets, blankets, and tents are encouraged as it is winter in Peru and people are in great need of these items.
